and this is why she does not take sleeping pills…

In bath last night, shaving and for once, not making any nicks… wonderful feeling, after 30 years of shaving, I have it down pat ! Self-congratulory humming followed by patting self on metaphoric back…

… then noticed razor had plastic guard still intact. ACK ! Rather than lament lack of silky legs, get out of tub to watch a movie and eat dip with foxling…

2300 calories later, in grand spirits… amazing what a lot of calories does for a girl, have heart to heart with my foxling about the dangers of prescription drug overuse, boys, skinny-dipping in November and all manner of important mother-daughter topics…

Fast forward 3 hours… or thereabouts, busy drooling on self and do not know actual time frame…

Late night kitchen noises disconcerting…

Self reassures is only auto-ice feature… proud reasonable explanation so quickly arrived at…

Nega-self argues freezer does not actually HAVE ice-maker… brain furiously conjuring images of rats in appliance… pull head under covers…

Slight feeling of “perhaps-will-be-ok” since all rodents trapped and cannot get out… head still under covers, for safe measure…

WTF, self brings up, HOW did they get in there to begin with ?!

Mind playing loop of said rodents crawling sneakily over pans in cupboards to get into inner walls, and the backs of all appliances.. now scared of toaster as well…

Must scrub out all pots and pans in AM, provided not dead from rat bites…

Would get up to barricade door but must keep ear out for rats attacking my foxling, and besides, they probably eat doors anyway…

Am pleased as to what remarkable mother have turned out to be, sad that will not live thru night to blog about it…

Wonder if can be cremated and ashes put into rodent-proof container; no service necessary as Colin Firth is probably busy…

Awoke with massive hang-over, a stuffed rabbit in my pillowcase and hanging off side of bed…

Will deal with occasional insomnia, thank you very much…

Hmm… now you have me curious… an aversion to sleep aids ? A propensity toward fear of rodent ? Not being able to shave without looking like bombing victim ?! =) You always keep me on my toes, Punky ! =)
