things I love…

1. Deleting what is in the trash can icon on the Mac laptop… makes a crunching paper sound, and it just makes me laugh every time I empty it. Have been known to delete things just so I an hear the crinkle. =)

2. Taking my foxling to the dentist and paying a cool $125 less than expected ! =) Woot-woot ! Just cleaning, fluoride and bitewings, not a full mouth scan this trip… !

3. New notebooks for the new school year… since I was up $125, thought I would spend a couple of bucks on the notebooks she has her eye on for the past year… they are two subject with integrated plastic folders and easy-tear edge… PLUS the coil is covered with a cloth sleeve so they won’t catch on her sweaters all winter.

4. Finding just the exact size patio set for the new house… and it is affordable ! =) Very sweet little bistro set with the requisite smooth table top for lessons and drawing, as well as only 2 chairs to clean and lug about the yard. Now if only we get the apartment and by proxy, the yard in which to put it…

5. The possibility of a new friendship… I spent some time with a woman this week, hours actually. We talked and laughed and brainstormed… it was fantastic to talk to someone who is going thru nursing school and had a lot of pertinent info to share. We commiserated about kids, talked about the books we have in common and our hopes for the future. It was an easy time, relaxing and it felt good to spend time doing nothing. =) I am gonna call her and try to squeeze in lunch or snacks and drinks next week. There is nothing better than sharing a pitcher of margaritas and chips with pico in the hot sun with friends…

6. The fact that a great friend now lives 9 1/2 hours away instead of 26 hours… The cool thing is that we have been thinking of a road trip for years, and with her kids and mine, it never happened. Now they are close enough to drive down for a long weekend… ! =) =) Also, they live a few hours away from a terrific bloggy friend, so the gears are turning… =)

7. Having my foxling home… it has been an entire month since she has been at home for any amount of time when we could be alone to catch up with one another. I have missed her so much, and we have spent the past 2 days knee deep in maths, trashy telly, fun food and the occasional appointment. She is so different already after only a few weeks… this time of growth is amazing, and I am in wonder every day when I see her come down the stairs… who is this creature going to be ?!

8. More foxes in our backyard… I saw a mumma and 2 kits prancing thru the underbrush ! I cannot tell you how incredible it is to see such wildness a few feet from the tip of your nose… I know they might not be as flashy as the animals one sees at a zoo, but these darlings were as wild as one can get in my neck of the woods, and were a sight to behold. So happy I spend time quietly out there, else I would miss the constant barrage of creatures.

Time to go work, have a lovely !
