random observations…

Pretty rainy day… utterly unmotivated and trying to accomplish a few things before I give in and climb into a hot bath with another library book.

1. Have you noticed that many stores sell slutty bathing suits for young girls ? Fringed, leopard-prints, tie-sided bikinis and backless tanks… enough to make an adult blush, these are downright scary… Dragged my foxling into LL Bean yesterday and spent over a weeks worth of grocery money to get her a sporty and modest suit made for swimming, not picking up men. She looks so cute in it, and loves the fit… I grabbed her a pair of matching board shorts as well, so she has options. She is headed out to CA in a week, and now has something appropriate to wear to the beach with her Grandpa. He is going to be amazed at how much she has grown up there past few years ! =)

2. Amazon just got some type of contract with HBO, and therefore one can watch a huge selection of their shows free if you have a Prime membership. I watched an episode of TRUE BLOOD, being the past person on the planet to have not ever seen it. I tried it because it is produced by Alan Ball, the same guy who did my fav show.  Anyhow, all I can say is wow… it sure does start out with a bang, and does not look like it is going to let up. Southern accents on sex-crazed vampires and murderers. I do not think there is enough of a story to drag me back for a second episode. The one redeeming quality of the show is that it stars that cute guy from ONCE UPON A TIME, Mr. Golds son… cannot remember his name but he is adorable. =) I am just going to stick to SCANDAL, at least everyone is dressed impeccably. =)

3. My friend and I are both trying to lose 10 pounds by July 1st, and he had the flu over the weekend… and is down another 2 pounds. I actually was jealous for a minute, of a man with the flu. Sigh, this dieting thing is starting to make me crazy ! =) I have had a few days to relax with my foxling and feel pretty damned good, so instead of taking it easy while she is gone, I am going to get up early every day and swim, workout and enjoy the quiet time. I am thinking of buying some juice to mix with my protein shake, could be yummy. =)

I have nothing else, just a bit of fluff twisting around in my head and a deep desire for another cup of decaf. I am spending the next few hours with my foxling, laying on the couch with the telly on and a bag of organic popcorn between us. Tomorrow we have haircuts in the morning followed by a quick trip to the grocers and then are seeing a movie with The Professor, wicked fun ! She will be so excited when she realizes where we are going, because we do not go to the theater often. =) The perfect end to a perfect week. Have a lovely !
