only five…

SONG OF THE DAY… BEAUTIFUL DAY by U2… great beat, fun lyrics, great premise… =)

WORDS FOR THE DAY… “Yippee ki-yay, motherfucker”… need I say more ??!!!!!!!!! =)

Moving right along, in the same vein…

SERIES POST #13… SIEZE THE DAY… !!!!!! Tomorrow might never come, so get to it ! Do something you have been putting off; make that phone call, buy those tickets, sign up for music lessons… go dancing, have an indulgent drink, buy that sexy perfume… do SOMETHING, something that you really need or want to do. Missed opportunities are about as tragic as it comes, folks. =)

Ooh, this is a fun one ! =) I can imagine that most people would cringe at only being able to eat 5 different foods for the rest of their lives, but for me, it would be all good. Oh, I do admit to the odd chinese craving, or funyuns… those little things that make you smile. But for the most part, I tend to eat the same things, over and over…

I have always had an unhealthy relationship with food, and only in the past 6 months have come to grips with what I love, hate, need and want from eating. I now see food as a simple fuel source; in order to go, I need the energy. Energy comes from sustenance, plain and simple. Since I have shifted my diet and exercise habits, I am having less cravings, and often find food that used comfort me now makes me sick to my stomach. Ready for a dirty secret ? I used to eat one, just one package of spicy shin ramen a month, around my moon-time. The salt and fat and all those calories made me feel so good… ! The last time I tried to eat one, I got down 3 bites and threw the rest away. I still love the idea of it, but the reality is way too much to handle.

I also am eating way smaller portions, and if there is too much food on my plate, it just turns me off completely. Now don’t get me wrong, I still eat ! I enjoyed some beautiful macerated mushrooms yesterday for early lunch, then had  small salad a few hours later with seeds and a bit of tuna on it. I just do better with smaller portions now, and more often.

So… what would I choose to eat for the rest of my life ?

1. My first choice would be my organic, vanilla Raw Meal shake. A staple, fills me up, gives me mad energy and does not taste too awful. =)

2. Wallaby Organic Plain Greek Lowfat Yogurt… yep, has to be this exact kind; if I am gonna eat it forever, I want exactly what I want. =)

3. Boneless, skinless free-range chicken breasts… I know, unimaginative, but good, easy protein. Cooks in a flash, too, which is a good thing.

4. Organic salad mix with baby lettuces, kale and spinach… this might be cheating a bit, but it comes packaged like this, so I think it works. YUMMY !

5. Jasmine rice… a staple, delicious and fragrant.

To cheat a LOT, I also would be able to have 5 spices or other flavorings… hey, this is my game. =)

1. Cold-pressed virgin coconut oil for cooking everything…

2. Pepper… both red and black varieties, please…

3. Garlic sets… with just a few, I could grow entire fields !

4. Onion sets… same premise, and who cannot resist some sautéed onion and garlic with a handful of cooked rice thrown in ?!

5. Lemons… mixing all this together would make a decent salad oil, and can marinate the chicken as well.

So… I have proven once again that imagination is not my strong suit, but I know what I like and can be satisfied with that. This can be a good thing. =) What would be on your list ?

If someone was stranded on a desert island with only five foods, wouldn’t they want ones that float so they could get out of there?

Hells no, not for this girl ! =) I am not a city mouse like you are, Guap, and being on an island with food, sun and plenty of water to explore sounds like my idea of Nirvana. =)
