secret telly love…

I spent my senior year of high school in a small town in Oklahoma, living with my cousins grandfather. Tiny house, tiny school, tiny minded-kids. Pretty much the same as the tiny town I left in Massachusetts. The BIG difference was how seriously they took their sports. I had great fun on Friday nights attending the football games. My best friend Connie and I would arrive early, scarf french fries and then climb the bleachers, two at a time. We would dance, boo the opposition and cheer ourselves hoarse for our boys. We would drive back to her house usually after midnight, eat cookies and drink pop until her mom would knock on the bedroom wall, her gentle way of letting us know the night was over. In the morning, we would tell her brother Bobby all about the game, whispering because our voices were shot. Her mom would make us hot lemon tea with a tiny bit of bourbon in it, to soothe our scratchy throats. After breakfast, we would walk across the creek, talking about boys and music until it was time for me to head home.

Fast forward about 119 years and I am flicking thru Netflix, looking for something with which to amuse myself. “Friday Night Lights” catches my eye, I mean, who doesn’t love Kyle Chandler ? I check out the synopsis and turn on an episode, big mistake, that. =) Within 30 minutes, I am hooked. I am always late to the telly scene, so it does not bother me that I am watching a show from 7 years ago. How could I have missed this gem ?! I completely LOVE this show ! Will Jason walk again ? Are Lyla and Tim going to really get together ? What about Coach Taylor, will he finally stand up to the other men in town ? Is Smash seriously going to take steroids ?! I like that I can have it on while my foxling is in the room drawing, and not have to worry TOO much what I am exposing her to. =) So there you have it, my new telly obsession. Any suggestions for what to watch after I finish plowing thru this awesomeness ?

Today’s photo prompt is “something that begins with the letter I”…

This one was too easy… more secrets being revealed… my foxling’s name is Isobel ! =) She was not feeling having her photo snapped today, so I thought I would take a photo of a photo of her, one of my fav’s from a couple of summers ago. She helped me pick out a frame recently, and it goes with my new bedroom stuff perfectly !

    Oh, I love her name!

I only know how FNL ends. I am trying to decide between Supernatural or Dr. Who for my next TV obsession.

      Thanks, Punky ! =)

I am really lovin’ FNL, and for what it is worth, think Dr. Who might be a good choice… almost every man I meet is raving about the show. Now that I think about it, I do not know if that is such a good recommendation ! =)
