I love reading The Guardian in the mornings.  The different perspective, sprinkled with biting wit brings a smile to my face as I digitally flip thru the pages.

I read a cute article a few days ago, about the explosion of “selfies” in social media. Nothing new to this lady; I have been snapping photos of half of my grinning face in front of mountains, oceans and temples for decades. How else will a single-by-choice traveller bring back any photographic evidence of their play and debauchery ? It seems, however, that for the Brits at least, this phenomena is not as captivatingly entertaining as it once was. The Guardian, therefore, is accepting “shelfies”, photographs that readers have taken of their book shelves and nooks. 🙂 I find this idea to be the epitome of cleverness, and loved all the snaps sent in by readers, far and wide. In the spirit of non-holiday fun, I have taken a few photos of our bookshelves, in all their stuffed and dusty glory. Wish I had done this on dusting day, but here is a glimpse of our mess. 🙂
